about this blog
Why chai at six? Because growing up, my family and I would have chai every evening. Those moments of my youth are among my most favorite memories.

Who am I? A twentysomething working fulltime in Knoxville, Tenn.

Please note that all thoughts and comments described in this blog are purely my own and do not reflect the thoughts or attitudes of the company I work for.

So I'm growing up now. I bought a car today — a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer. It's royal blue in color and seems to fit me although the payments are going to be a killer. Ah, you have to lose some to gain some.

Tomorrow I go to Charlotte, N.C., to see my kaka and kaki (uncle and aunt) and then I move to Knoxville next week. Everything is happening way too fast, but it's fun.

Things are getting interesting and I'm ready for it all!

Handy list of articles on hotel deals.

Surfing along, I came across this Web site: Inpassing.org. Take a look — it's quite interesting. "Eve S. Dropper" has an amazing ability to pick out and record snippets of peoples' conversations.

I'm in Michigan now, Waterford Township to be exact. I'm really close with my sister and am enjoying my time staying here with her and her husband.

We went for garbas Saturday night. They were held by the Gujarati Samaj of Detroit. My mama is chairman of the samaj. It was awesome to see them there. I last met them a year ago.

Nisha and I watched "Sweet Home Alabama" Sunday night. A sweet, chick movie.

Also got offered a job in Tennessee as a Web content producer. I have accepted the offer and should be moving there the end of this month. It's exciting and scary at the same time. I can't believe I'm finally joining the working world — and this, at age 20! I have to buy a car and find an apartment. Get work clothes, change banks. So many things to do.

Western beliefs are changing centuries-old values according to an article in the New York Times. Globalization of beauty makes slimness trendy is about the way the perception of beauty is being changed in Nigeria. They want slim girls too. I'm going to try and cling to my Indian/African values as strongly as I can, although I think my grip has definitely loosened from what it was when I first came to the United States.

Off to Michigan today. Perhaps Chicago this or next weekend!

I'm back from my trip to Tennessee. Knoxville is a pretty city and reminded me of Philadelphia. They also have an area called Old City, which like the one in Philadelphia, has quirky shops and bars. I also got a chance to visit the headquarters of iPix. Pretty cool!

Just read this article on MSN. Are you beautiful? Why looks matter was interesting to read. At least beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as the columnist, Martha Brockenbrough, writes.

Also came across another delightful Web site on the incredible Siberian Tiger. Tigers are stunning creatures — very graceful, sleek and smart.
