about this blog
Why chai at six? Because growing up, my family and I would have chai every evening. Those moments of my youth are among my most favorite memories.

Who am I? A twentysomething working fulltime in Knoxville, Tenn.

Please note that all thoughts and comments described in this blog are purely my own and do not reflect the thoughts or attitudes of the company I work for.

    chai at six
I laughed out loud and screamed with joy after watching Adrian Brody win the Oscar for Best Actor for his a role as a Jewish pianist in hiding in "The Pianist." My post from a month and a half ago explained I was touched by that film. Certain scenes from that movie just stayed in my head. And Adrian's Brody's voice ... yum. Has the perfect pitch. He also spoke so eloquently and displayed such emotion and also ease that he's just so likable. He has that great confidence too and self awareness. He's hot in a brooding kind of way >> I can't resist: The brooding Brody! I'm going to watch out for him. He's going to be SO BIG!

I'm looking for a new place to live now. I'm tired of the walk in closet — the nickname my brother gave this apartment. I figure it's also time I start establishing some roots. I figure I won't be leaving anytime soon, so I better start buying furniture and find a home here. I think I'm also doing this to fill my time -- I don't really have much else to do, so maybe having my own home will inspire my design ideas and just bring better things for me. I drove by a place I'd read about and it totally is someplace I'd love to live. It's in a residential neighborhood, about 3 minutes from Kingston Pike and about 12 minutes from work. And the apartment/townhouses are historic with hardwood floors -- something I'm craving after seeing so many carpeted rooms. And there are a few stores across from the complex. I just wish there is an apartment available for me and that I CAN AFFORD IT.

Thinking in the long term - I also hope I have people who will help me move. I hardly have friends here, and am so used to my brothers and me moving around, that now being on my own is going to be tough. Luckily, the only pieces of furniture I own now are a lamp, tv/vcr and my laptop, so hopefully the move won't be that bad. Send me your best wishes!

I came across this lovely online magazine » digsmagazine.com, which has inspired me even more to having an exciting "post graduation, pre-family lifestyle.

Wonder if this is all going according to plan. Maybe you can muse with me.
